Christmas Tree Festival Another Resounding Success

The 2022 Reepham Christmas Tree Festival, held in early December, was attended by in excess of 1,100 visitors and raised over £800 in sponsorship and donations, which has been shared equally between Reepham Lions Club and St Mary’s Church, Reepham.

Reepham Lions President, Ann Graham, thanked the Reepham community for their wonderful support in sponsoring, decorating and visiting the Christmas trees.  “We are so grateful for everyone’s kind comments and amazing donations”, she said.

The Festival featured 22 trees, decorated by a range of organisations and businesses.  Visitors were asked to vote for their favourite tree.  The winning tree was decorated by pupils from Reepham Primary School and was entitled “Our International Friends”, using decorations to celebrate their links with schools in France, Malawi and Japan.  The tree decorated by Reepham’s Florist, Flower Folk, held second place with the Reepham Branch of the Royal British Legion’s tree in third.

The Lions will be continuing to fundraise during 2023 to support good causes selected by members.  The Club welcomes approaches from anyone who can identify a project for the Lions to support.  Please let them know by emailing reephamlions2@gmail.com or speak with someone at one of their fundraising events.

Membership of Reepham Lions Club is not just about fundraising.  Members enjoy social activities as a group such as quizzes, walks and meals out.  They meet on the first Thursday of the month, 7.00 for 7.30pm in St Michael’s Church Hall.  Visitors are welcome.
