Reepham Lions have donated money to the Bircham Centre to meet the cost of new covers for the gazebos in the Walled Garden. Lions President, Brenda Gostling, presented the cheque to Les West, Chair of the Trustees of the Bircham Centre.
The Bircham Centre is Reepham’s community building and plays host to a charity shop, our local library plus meeting spaces for community groups and individuals to hire. It also has a beautiful walled garden, which offers a quiet space for residents to pass their time throughout the year.
During the summer months, the Bircham Centre erects two gazebos in the garden to provide shade in the sunshine and shelter in the rain. This year, the gazebos had been showing signs of wear and were badly damaged in the windy weather we experienced during early summer. Reepham Lions were pleased to help with the purchase of new covers.
Members of Reepham Lions have been raising funds at a number of events already in 2023 and are busy selling raffle tickets for their annual prize draw, which will be drawn at the club’s Charter Lunch on 29 October. The first prize in the draw is £250, second prize £100 and third prize £50.
