Lions International runs a scheme to collect donated glasses, which are then sent to help improve the quality of life for children and adults living in low and middle-income communities around the world.
We also collect designer glasses cases, which can be resold to raise funds for our local projects.
Many will experience correct sight for the first time, enabling them to lead productive working lives, support their families, attend school and advance their education.
Since April 2019 Reepham Lions has been collecting spectacles both in Reepham (the Bircham Centre and the Crown) and Fakenham and has since placed a collection bin in Cecil Amey in Aylsham. Thanks to those organisations for facilitating these and to everyone who has donated their old glasses and cases. We’ve been able to raise funds regularly by this means, all of which goes to funding projects.
